Commercial Stormwater Soak Holes

Installing Commercial Stormwater Soak Holes in Taupo

As expert stormwater and drainage specialists, we were pleased to be asked to install several soak holes for commercial buildings in a Taupo industrial area. This was required for proper stormwater drainage and excess water management.

The buildings were located in Tauhara Road, a large and dense area of commercial businesses, which therefore presented its own challenges.

Process of installing new stormwater soak holes

The first step to install the new soak holes was excavating the holes. The holes were then reinforced with trench shields. After this, we installed porous liners and surrounded them with scoria.

The commercial buildings were then plumbed into the soak holes. This allows for proper stormwater runoff as well as dealing with surface rain water.

Importance of Soak Holes

This project shows how important it is when planning commercial buildings to allow for correct stormwater management. Nolan Drainage can install and maintain stormwater soak holes for commercial buildings, residential homes and civil works. The new soak holes at Tauhara Road will ensure that these businesses can continue running even during times of heavy downpours.
